RIVERHEAD BREWERY

The brewery
Riverhead Brewery is part of the Ossett Brewery company, but all the Riverhead beers are brewed on site at the Riverhead Brewery Tap in Marsden. Head brewer is Lisa Handforth - a brewster of three years, although there has been brewing on the premises for over 20 years.
What beers are here?
The beers are all brewed on site and are named after local reservoirs: Sparth (3.6%), Butterley (3.8%), March Haigh (4.6%) and Redbrook (5.5%).
Where to try
As well as the Riverhead Brewery Tap, you can taste the Riverhead beers at Fanny's in Saltaire and as far afield as The Dispensary in Liverpool.
Did you know?
When Lisa started working for Ossett, the then head brewer claimed she wouldn't last long in an industry dominated by men. But Lisa has proved them all wrong, developing her own recipes such as Brewster's Blonde and winning first prize at Liverpool Beer Festival. Her 10 year-old daughter occasionally helps out in the brewery, ensuring the skills will be passed on.
