Here For The Beer?

Picture
If you're Here for the Beer, you've come to the right place! The South Pennines area has an incredible concentration of independent micro-breweries and good pubs. Alongside well-known names like Timothy Taylor, this area has dozens of smaller beer producers, from micro-breweries in the backroom of a pub, to well-equipped operations producing significant quantities of beer.

You'll need to stay a while if you're planning to try them all! Take a look at this list to see which South Pennines beers and breweries you still have to discover...

All the featured pubs and breweries are recommended by locals. We asked residents to tell us about   the best pubs and breweries in Haworth & the Worth Valley, Hebden Bridge, Holmfirth & Holme Valley, Marsden, Slaithwaite, Littleborough, Ripponden, Sowerby Bridge, Todmorden and Saddleworth.  Real ale pubs, cosy pubs, pubs with good food, pubs that are perfect for walkers, cyclists, family friendly pubs, those with beer gardens - they're all here!

The South Pennines

Picture
The South Pennines is where Lancashire and Yorkshire collide: the landscape between the Yorkshire Dales to the North and the Peak District to the South. It's the area covered by OS Map 21 covering the places listed above. In parts, wild and rural and in others, densely populated, the area has seen a huge growth in the number of independent micro-breweries.

Come and sample their delights for yourself and stay a while in one of our characterful towns and villages. Steep-sided valleys, canals, reservoirs and stunning open moorland all await you.

You'll find more reasons to visit at www.southpennines.co.uk.
